Web designers and developers are responsible for all the sites that we look at on the Internet and World Wide Web (WWW.)

The designers are responsible for the look, feel and content of the sites, including how easy it is to find what you want.

The managers are responsible for running the sites, administering the 'servers' (big computers where the site information is stored) and keeping them working effectively.

A good or bad website can make or break a company. If a website is well put together, easy to use, intuitive and lots of people can find it, then it has the capacity to be successful. More and more business these days is done via the internet. With the current escalation in technology and speed, it is likely that if a company is not on the internet, it will ultimately not be able to compete.

'E-Commerce' is a term that is often used to describe the way business is done on the web. SEO, or 'Search Engine Optimisation' is fast becoming one of the most important areas in E-Commerce. This is the study of how the main search engines (like Google, Yahoo & MSN) store and 'rank' a sites information. Obviously, every company wants it's site to appear at the top of the list!
